Using the Canon 5000 client software to retrieve
scanned documents

Open eCopy by going to Start -->
Programs --> eCopy Applications --> eCopy desktop.

In eCopy, go
to Options, Preferences.

On the left
side scroll down to ShareScan (under Scanners) and click on ShareScan.

Then click
on the “Set as Default” button.

Then on the
right side click on the “Edit Settings” button.

Then for
“ShareScan Directory Name,” browse to My Network Places\Entire
Network\Microsoft Windows Network\Town\Ecopy6211\SDC$INBOXES\”your inbox” to
select your inbox.

Click Apply and OK.
If you complete step 2 correctly, the
ShareScan preferences screen should look like Figure 1 below,
EXCEPT YOUR NAME SHOULD BE AT THE END OF THE DIRECTORY
NAME:

To set the
Canon copier as your eCopy printer:
-
First set up
the copier as a printer on your computer by clicking this link:
\\chps.

Then from
the list of printers double click plan_Canon (Canon 5000).

Then click
“yes” to set up the printer.

Then, in
eCopy, go to Options, Preferences.
-
On the left
side click on" eCopy Desktop Preferences", then click the “Edit Settings”
button.

Select
Canon_5000 from the printer pull-down menu.

Then click
apply and OK.
