Munis 2004 Desktop Client

Installation Instructions

  1. Click the following link once to run the Munis installation:

\\Sms\Munis\NEW_Install_MUNIS_2004\setup.exe

  1. If the Installation program does not appear after a few moments, double-click the above link once.

     

  2. If an Internet Explorer File Download/Security Warning or Publisher verification warning appears, click Run to continue.

     

  3. At various points during the installation you may receive a Windows Security Alert such as "Windows Firewall has blocked this program from accepting connections from the Internet or network. If you recognize the program or trust the publisher, you can unblock it". Click unblock whenever you see this message.

     

Note: You must use the old client to access the 2003 LIVE database and the new client to access the 2004 database (for training only at this time).  You cannot have two different icons running in the Windows System Tray at the same time (located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen). The “hand” icon is used for the 2003 database and the new “F” icon is used for the new 2004 database. If you get “Unable to connect” errors when you try to access MUNIS, check the System Tray for the presence of both icons. If BOTH are present, close out MUNIS and close out the appropriate icon by right-clicking on it and choosing Close.

 

  1. When the Welcome screen appears, click Next.

  1. On the Setup Type screen, select “2004 MUNIS Client”, “MUNIS Messenger” and “MUNIS Documentation”. Then click Next.

  1. When the Welcome screen for the Munis Client installation appears, click Next.

  1. On the Setup Type screen, leave the Default installation setting and click Next.

  1. On the Setup Type screen, leave the default installation “Upgrade from BDL Client (pre-MUNIS 2004)” and click Next.

  1. On the License Agreement screen, click Yes.

  1. On the MUNIS 2004 Desktop Client screen, do not select “I would like to view the Four J’s README file now”. Click Finish. Then wait a moment for the next screen to appear.

  1. When the Welcome screen for the Munis Messenger installation appears, click Next.

  1.  On the Choose Destination Location screen, keep the default folder location and click Next.

  1.  On the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen, click Finish. Then wait a moment for the next screen to appear.

  1.  On the Setup Type screen, select “2004.03 Enhancements”, “2004.03 Program Changes”, and “MUNIS Help Content”. Then click Next.

  1.  On the Choose Destination Location screen, keep the default folder location and click Next.

  1.  If an Install Options screen appears, select “Option 1: Install by Customer Number” and click Next. Otherwise skip to step 16.

 

  1.  On the Enter Text screen, enter0520”. Then click Next.

  1.  On the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen, click Finish.

  1.  Double click the MUNIS icon on your desktop.
  1. Click unblock if you receive a Windows Security Alert such as "Windows Firewall has blocked this program from accepting connections from the Internet or network. If you recognize the program or trust the publisher, you can unblock it".
  2. If you receive an RSH Authentication warning, click Yes to continue.

  1.  In the text box, enter your Munis username. Then click OK.

 

  1.  Enter your Munis password. Then click OK.

 

  1.  On the Munis main menu screen, select option 3.

 

Note: At this time you may only view the training option using the new Munis client. You must exit this program and use the old client to access the live database.

 

 

 You will get the following screen.

 

  1. To exit the 2004 client, right-click on the “F” icon  in the Windows System Tray (located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen) and click Exit. Then you may access the live database using the old client.
